NSS College of Engineering was founded in 1960 by the Nair Service Society under the leadership of late Bharatha Kesari Mannathu Padmanabhan. NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad, is one of the most reputed engineering colleges of Kerala. Affiliated to the University of Calicut, the institute has an enviable history of grooming brilliant engineering professionals who later made their mark in industrial and other sectors of the country and abroad.
Nestled in the verdant foothills of Akathethara, the institute covers an area of over 125 acres and is just 9 km away from Palakkad town, and 4 km from the Palakkad Railway Junction.

FACTS
The institute has been founded by the Nair Service Society (NSS), an organization that works for the upliftment and welfare of the Nair community.
Currently, the NSS owns and manages a large number of educational institutions and hospitals. Admissions to the B Tech Degree Course of the college are made on the basis of the All Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the
Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala. The Student Chapter of IEEE (Institution of Electronics & Electrical Engineering, USA) is very active in the campus and regularly conducts technical seminars, Paper contests, Workshops, training programmes etc.
